مشهدان هذه الأيام يغليان في الشارع الغربي, يمسان الأمريكين بشكل عام و المسلمين بشكل خاص. المشهد الأول هو مطالبة إحدى الكنائس بتخصيص يوم لحرق القرآن الكريم و المشهد الآخر هو التظاهرات ضد بناء مسجد قرب الموقع صفر (و هو الإسم الذي يطلق على أرض برجي التجارة العالمية التي تم تدميرهما من قبل إرهابيين 11 سبتمبر).
الموضوع الأول (موضوع حرق المصحف) جاء من تحرك شاذ و لا يلقى صدى بين الناس عكس الموضوع الثاني و الذي يثير الناس في أمريكا و تقام حوله المناظرات طالت حتى الرئيس الأمريكي.
يقول بعض المؤيدين المسلمين إن الفكرة من وراء بناء المسجد هي أن يكون منبر لتوضيح سماحة الإسلام و رد على الإرهابيين. الحقيقية لا أرى كيف يمكن فهم ذلك ! يعني كيف نظهر سماحة الإسلام من خلال مبنى؟! المفروض السماحة تأتي من الأفعال لا المباني. ثم من يتوقع أن المعارضين سوف يأتون إلى المسجد و يسملون على العاملين فيه و يستفسرون منهم عن سماحة الإسلام؟
الأمر غير منطقي و لو كنت مكان الأخوة هناك لإقترحت أن يبنى مركز طبي خيري بتبرعات إسلامية و يحتوي على مسجد بدل من بناء مسجد فقط.
أما لماذا ؟
فالأمر واضح لأن المركز الطبي خيري (في دولة العلاج الصحي فيها غير مجاني) سيؤدي إلى الإستفادة منه من قبل المسلمين و المسيحين و البوذين و الملاحدة و كل أطياف البشر هناك و بالتالي ستكون خدمة رائعة للمجتمع و الذي سيقدر هذا العمل للمسلمين و يكسب المسلمين قلوب الناس هناك بالعمل المجتمعي المميز.
لكن يبدو إن هذا الأمر بعيد عن ما سيحدث و أن ما سيحدث هو الإستمرار في بناء المسجد لأن الأمر قانوني بحت و لا يمكن أن توقف المعارضات العاطفية أي موضوع في أمريكا يكون القانون في صفه.
أتمنى أن يقوم المسلمون هناك (على الأقل) و مع أول حجر أساس للمسجد بعمل مشروع خيري كبير لخدمة المجتمع هناك , كمأدبأة طعام كبيرة لفقراء نيويورك أو عمل أكبر عملية تبرع للملابس في تاريخ نيويورك أو أي شيء شبيه يؤثر على المجتمع بالعمل الصالح و هذه الأعمال هي ما تكسب قلوب الناس عادة أما المباني فلن تحرك شيء.
أما الصوت الشاذ الذي نادى بحرق القرآن فهذه فئة صغيرة شاذه يعارضها معظم الناس في أمريكا و لا يجب أن تثير حماسنا و غضبنا بل يجب أن نقوم بمقابلة الإساءة بالحسنى مثل فعل أي عمل للجمتع تطوعي كرد على هذا الفعل القبيح. أما أن نثور فلن يزيد هذا الأمر إلا شراراً فلن يكسب المسلمين الناس إلى صفهم و لربما زاد حماس أحد المسلمين إلى عمل أعمال إنتقامية بشكل متهور تزيد من سوء النظر إلى المسلمين في أمريكا.
الأصل أنه يجب أن نحذو حذو الرسول عليه الصلاة و السلام بمقابلة الإساءة بالإحسان فكما عاد المريض اليهودي الذي ظل يؤذيه طوال الوقت و تأثر بالموقف فإن هذا بالضبط ما يجب علينا فعله.
هذه منادات بسيطة مني إلا إني أخاف أن يكون السيناريو كالتالي , يتم بناء المسجد و لا يتم كسب قلوب الناس بأي عمل خيري تطوعي للمجتمع و بعد الإنتهاء من بناءه يأتي متعصب شاذ ليحرق المسجد و بدل من التعامل الحكيم مع الموقف و أن هذه حالة شاذة ,يثور المسلمين هناك و يقومون بأعمال مشابه و يقوم متطرفين من طرف آخر بالرد على عمل المسلمين و نعيش في دوامة لا تنتهي يكون المسلمين هم الخاسرين الأوائل من هذا الأمر.

Two big issues are happening these days in the west, affecting the Americans in general and Muslims in particular. The first issue is the claim of one of the churches set aside a day to burn the Koran and the other is the issue demonstrations against the construction of a mosque near to the Grounnd Zero.
The first issue (the of burning the Koran) came from odd movement and does not resonate among the people in US, unlike the second issue, which is people in US and the debates about it that even held so to the President.
Some Muslims support the idea of the construction of the mosque and they claim it is to be a platform to clarify the tolerance of Islam and a response to the terrorists. I do not see how this can happen! I mean, how to show tolerance of Islam through a building?! Tolerance should come from the deeds and not buildings. Should we then expected that after the building is finished, people will come to the mosque and ask the employees their about the tolerance of Islam?
It is not logical. Shouldn't Muslims there instead of building a mosque only, build a Islamic medical center charitable donations and contains a mosque, instead of building a mosque only.
As for why?
It's clear that building a charitable medical center (in a state that health treatment is not free) will benefit from it by Muslims, Christians, Jews ,Atheists and the rest of people there and therefore will be a great service to society, and who will appreciate this work for Muslims and win the hearts of the people for the good well.
But it seems that this is far from what will happen and what will happen is people will continue to build the mosque because it was a purely legal and could not stop the emotional opposition of any matter in America that have the law on its side.
I hope that the Muslims there (at least) and with the first foundation stone of the mosque do a charitable project in the service of society there, such as giving food for the homeless in New York or the work of the largest donation of clothes in the history of New York or anything similar impact on the community good work and this work is what people usually appreciate more than seeing buildings.
The issue of the odd movement of which called for the Koran to burn, is contested by most people in America and should not raise the enthusiasm and the anger of Muslims, we must do the opposite toward the abuse and done together any social work to the community in N.Y. The fact that extremeness will not benefit the Muslims nethier people from the odd movement.
Basic principle is that you must follow the example of the Prophet peace be upon him when he visit his neighbor when he got sick and that neighbor used to abuse and harm the prophet. That was a pure example for doing something good toward any bad thing against you.
I have a fear that the scenario is as follows, Muslims in N.Y build the mosque and don't do any act of charity volunteer for the community and after the completion of construction comes fanatic odd to burn the mosque and instead of dealing wisely with the situation. Muslims there so similar thing to a church, then some poeple from the other party respond to the work of the Muslims by extremeness and and will have a sad tragedy the New Yorker Muslims will lose a lot by it.
